We didn't want a cardboard box delivered by a faceless courier and having to search about on youtube for the best way to put it together. To be honest I wasn't actually expecting the level of customer service I received at Roy Pinks! It was great and made me realised what is missing from the experience of online shopping, actually sales people helping you make the right purchase. Instead of handing over the cardboard box the trailer was put together for me, tested and then a demonstration was given to how it all worked. The trailer is great, it includes the stroller kit which means when you arrive at your destination it becomes a buggy. Its also got proper wheels, not tiny pram ones. And not forgetting the boot - the space in the back is massive! The tiny ones changing bag was rattling around in the back. Of course I couldn't wait to take it for a spin, so we took a trip into Bletchley Town Centre. GoPro video below -- Picture from the archive with my old trailer.

Took to my bike this weekend, and wanted to document my route across town so decided to take my GoPro with me. The camera started off on my handle bars but it started to shift so i tightened it a little more and Crack! The adapter broke, must get me a metal mount. Lucky for me i still have my helmet mount, so the footage is shot for just above my head height. Amazingly close to the roof of the underpasses in a couple of videos, but i'm sure thats just the wide angle lens. This is a partically hard blog post to write, originally I didn't want to post it because I felt like I was blowing my own trumpet. But in the last couple of days I've seen articles which make me believe that others might feel the same about the area they live in, partially in Milton Keynes. Near my house there is a long path, its a very busy cut though for people going to school, work or even the nearby pub. The problem is its not a section of the famous Redway network so doesn't get the same amount of attention when it comes to general house keeping and maintenance. Since moving into our house just over a year ago the path has slowly been getting worse, the leaves from the nearby trees fall onto the path and because its relatively shaded from the wind they don't get blow away. So when walking though there one way I almost slipped over as the path was partially wet, but instead of jumping on the internet and reporting it to the council (after all 'thats what i pay my tax for') I got my broom out and swept the path. The below pictures show the progress I made, it took me about an hour to go from one end to the other. When i'd finished I was full of a sense that I'd not only done something to help my neighbourhood by I'd also carried out some much needed exercise at the same time. This post is not a dig at the council, far from it they are struggling to make ends meet with ever reducing budgets. For them to come out and clear the path would have involved quite a lot of red tape, and we all know that red tape isn't cheap.
I'd love to hear from others who have already or are planning other similar tidy-ups in their areas. |
